Using vaporizers correctly in social clubs: What is permitted and how can you use them sensibly?
Since cannabis social clubs have been officially approved in Germany, many members are wondering how they can use their vaporizers correctly in this new environment. At the same time, there are misunderstandings about what is and isn't allowed in the club. This article provides clarity: from the legal situation and the purpose of a social club to tips for using your own vaporizer outside the club premises.
What exactly is a cannabis social club?
A cannabis social club is a non-commercial growing association that collectively produces cannabis for its members. The clubs operate cooperatively, are limited to a maximum of 500 members, and are subject to strict requirements regarding safety, transparency, quality, and documentation.
The goal is clear: controlled, safe cultivation and a legal way to obtain cannabis flowers and propagation material. A club is therefore not a consumption room, a café, or a private meeting place for smoking. Distribution is exclusively to members, and any transfer to third parties is prohibited.

Can I use a vaporizer in the Social Club?
The short answer is no.
Under German law, consumption remains prohibited in social clubs without exception. Cannabis may not be consumed either on club premises or on club grounds. In addition, consumption is prohibited within 100 meters of the club. This means that you are not allowed to use your vaporizer even directly outside the door.
Clubs are exclusively for cultivation, distribution, consultation, and education. They are not places for sessions, meeting up with friends, or sharing a vaping experience.
Why is vaping not allowed in the club?
There are two reasons for this rule:
Youth and health protection
The legislature wants to prevent club rooms from becoming consumption rooms. The distance from schools and youth areas underscores this protection.
Clear separation between cultivation and consumption
Clubs should provide a safe infrastructure for cultivation, not spaces for private sessions. Consumption must continue to take place in private settings or in places where it is expressly permitted.
So whether you use a tabletop vaporizer, a portable cannabis vaporizer, or a high-quality vaporizer, it doesn't matter: their use is prohibited in the club.

Where am I allowed to use my vaporizer?
Consumption is permitted in private spaces. In public spaces, it is only permitted to a limited extent, provided that no minors are present and a minimum distance from sensitive facilities is maintained. Consumption is prohibited in the club and within 100 meters of the club.
For many members, this simply means picking up the product, going home, and vaporizing it there.
How do you use a vaporizer correctly after delivery?
Even if you are not allowed to consume in the social club, you can use your vaporizer at home. After dropping off your cannabis flowers, you can take them with you and decide at your leisure when and how you want to use them. Vaporizing is a gentle method because you use the plant's active ingredients without burning the material.
A good vaporizer helps you control the temperature precisely and use your cannabis efficiently. Devices such as the Relict , the HAMMAH , or the Voity are designed for just that: dry herbs, adjustable temperature, and a clear, reproducible result, without fire or paper.
How does a vaporizer actually work?
A vaporizer heats your cannabis flowers so that cannabinoids and terpenes are released as vapor without the use of an open flame. You fill the herb chamber with the plant material, turn on the device, and wait until the desired temperature is reached. Then you inhale the vapor through the mouthpiece.
The key difference to smoking a joint: when vaporizing, the plant material is not burned. When smoking, the combustion process produces additional substances that you inhale. When vaporizing, these combustion products are largely absent because you only use the heated vapor of the active ingredients. This protects the respiratory tract and makes the effects clearer.

What is the ideal temperature for cannabis flowers?
Temperature has a major impact on effect, taste, and efficiency. That's why it's worth experimenting a little with the different settings instead of just choosing any setting.
At lower temperatures, between approximately 160 and 175 degrees Celsius, the result is often lighter and clearer. The aroma of the terpenes comes through more strongly, and many describe the effect at this temperature range as more cerebral and energizing.
Between approximately 180 and 195 degrees, the vapor becomes denser and the effect more physical and balanced. More cannabinoids are released here without the material reaching the point of combustion.
From around 200 degrees, the intensity increases significantly. You get more out of the flowers, but the aroma recedes somewhat and the vapor can become stronger. It is important that the plant material does not turn black or smell burnt. If it does, you are too close to smoking and lose the actual advantage of vaporizing.

Why is vaping a good alternative to smoking?
When smoking cannabis, the flower burns completely. The resulting gases contain not only cannabinoids and terpenes, but also numerous combustion products that put additional strain on the lungs. When vaporizing, you only heat the material to the point where the desired substances are released without burning the plant material.
You can tell by several things: the taste is often much purer because the terpenes are not overpowered by the smoke. You also use the active ingredients more efficiently because they don't go up in smoke. Many people find that they need less material to achieve the same effect with a vaporizer.
The sensation when inhaling is also usually more pleasant. The vapor is smoother than smoke, the airways are less irritated, and you can better control your sessions because you can consciously control the temperature and draw behavior. This makes vaporizing a good fit for what social clubs are actually supposed to promote: informed, controlled, and responsible use of cannabis—just in your own environment instead of at the club.
