Yes, you can use the RELICT without dosing capsules . However, there are a few things you should keep in mind:

Cleaning: Without the dosing capsules, the herb chamber is more difficult to clean. Residues from the vaporized herbs can accumulate in the chamber and impair functionality over time.

Air duct: Small pieces of herbs may get into the air duct. This could affect the air flow and require more thorough cleaning of the appliance.

The dosing capsules are designed to make handling easier and provide better protection for the device.

The Relict has been specially developed for dry herbs. Although there are drip pads for oils, resins, or waxes, the Relict is Relict suitable for liquids. Please do not attempt to vaporize e-liquids with it—this can damage the device and is not intended for this purpose.

Store the RELICT in a dry, safe place. Make sure it is protected from dust and do not completely discharge it if you are not going to use it for a long time.

You are actually doing everything right—what you describe is completely normal. Most common herbs such as chamomile, sage, peppermint, or rosemary produce hardly any visible vapor when vaporized. This is not due to your device, but to the herbs themselves.
Another important point is the moisture content of the herbs.

The ideal relative humidity (RH) is approximately 62%—herbs that are too dry will evaporate, but will produce very little vapor.

Basically, vaporization is not about visible vapor like smoking, but about releasing the terpenes—the active ingredients. And this works even if no visible vapor is produced.

Turn off the RELICT and let it cool down. Disassemble the device into individual parts such as the mouthpiece, cooling unit, and screen. Clean these with isopropanol and a cotton swab. For optimal performance, you should thoroughly clean the RELICT after every fifth use. If you use it intensively, you can clean it more often.

Please ensure that the strainer with silicone insert is clean before inserting the dosing capsule. If herb residues or condensation accumulate there, the capsule may stick slightly when heated and be more difficult to remove.
Regular cleaning—especially of the silicone insert—helps to avoid this problem and also ensures better flavor and airflow.

If your RELICT does not turn on, there are a few steps you can check:

1. Check the battery:
   Ensure that the battery is sufficiently charged. Connect the device to the charging cable and wait a few minutes before trying again. Ensure that the charging indicator lights up.
2. Performing the switch-on procedure correctly:
   TheRELICT can be activated by quickly pressing the power button five times. If you press the button too slowly, the device will not recognize the command.
3. Check contacts and charging cable:
   Check that the charging contacts are clean and that the cable is not damaged. Sometimes a dirty connection prevents the battery from charging.
4. Ensure that the battery is seated correctly:
   If your model has a removable battery, check that the battery is inserted correctly and that there is no loose connection.
5. Try resetting:
   If the device still won't turn on after these steps, try resetting it. Disconnect the vaporizer from the charging cable, wait a few minutes, and try again.

The rotated display on your RELICT is not a defect, but a practical feature of the device. As described on page 10 of the user manual, you can easily change the orientation of the display:

Press and hold the power button and the plus button simultaneously for about 3 seconds.

This will rotate the display back to the desired orientation."

The battery of the RELICT lasts between 8 and 12 sessions, depending on usage. The exact runtime depends on the selected temperature and duration of use.

Press and hold the power button and the minus button simultaneously for about three seconds to reset the temperature unit of your RELICT .

The temperatures specified for the RELICT vaporizer refer to the heating coil. It should be noted that the heating chamber is supported by the INTELISENSE sensor. This sensor detects when the device is being drawn on and provides an additional boost at that moment, which increases the temperature in the chamber accordingly.

The rotated display on your RELICT is not a defect, but a practical feature of the device. As described on page 10 of the user manual, you can easily change the orientation of the display:

In principle, the Norddampf Relict always vibrates when the target temperature is reached. This function cannot be deactivated. IMPORTANT: The Relict only Relict when the first set temperature is reached. If the temperature is changed during a session, it will not vibrate again – this is intentional and serves to conserve battery power.

This concerns the Intelesens sensor, which provides an additional "boost" based on the draft behavior. The sensor and the resulting "boost" merely compensate for the cooling effect caused by the drawn-in air.
So if I draw longer, cool air comes in, which pushes the temperature down. The sensor detects the draw behavior and compensates for this cool air with a slight heat boost so that the temperature remains the same.

According to internal Norddampf, the silicone material used in the strainer screen (i.e., the small silicone ring in RELICT for sealing and securing screens or capsules) is food-safe, high-temperature silicone.

• Heat resistance: Permanent up to 250°C, short-term up to approx. 300°C

Behavior in the vaporizer: The silicone is specially designed to remain stable and safe even when in direct contact with the dosing capsule. It does not release any harmful substances and retains its shape—even at the maximum possible temperature of 240°C in the RELICT .

Application security:

The material was specifically RELICT for use in RELICT , where it sits in the air path but is not directly overheated. Thanks to dual heating technology, heat is primarily distributed via the chamber wall and base, rather than directly via the silicone.

The components are designed so that the air flow remains as isolated and flavor-neutral as possible.

So if you are vaporizing at 240°C (e.g., for extracts or hash with a drip pad), you can be sure that the silicone used does not release any substances that are harmful to health and that it performs its function reliably.
If you are still unsure or there are signs of wear (e.g., discoloration, odor), it is worth replacing the screen and silicone regularly—it is a classic wear part.

One extract pad is an accessory for the RELICT that allows you to vaporize concentrates and oils. It consists of a heat-resistant metal mesh that securely holds liquids and heats them evenly. The RELICT pad also protects the heating chamber from contamination.

The dosing capsules make it easier to fill the RELICT . You can fill the capsules with herbs in advance and simply insert them when you're on the go. This ensures clean handling and protects the herb chamber from contamination.

The bubbler is used as an attachment to filter the vapor through water. This cools the vapor pleasantly and gives you a smoother vaping experience – ideal for longer sessions.

Although the cap of the capsule also has a sieve, the additional standard sieve protects the chamber and ensures that less residue settles in the device.

The tolerance of the integrated hygrometer in our stash box is around ±5% relative humidity (RH)—which corresponds to the average for commercially available devices in this category.
The size of the box and the filling quantity are also important factors here:

• For the most accurate reading, the glass should ideally be about ¾ full.
• With a lower fill level, slight deviations may occur or the display may take a little longer to stabilize.
• The hygrometer cannot be calibrated manually on this model, but provides very reliable readings during typical use.

It is best to swap the lids of the dosing capsules. So, put the lid from dosing capsule A on dosing capsule B. If you have several dosing capsules, simply swap them all one by one and check whether they are easier to open.

Here is a brief guide on how to use the bubbler correctly with water so that it works perfectly:

1. Fill a glass with water.
2. Hold the lower part of the bubbler in the water.
3. Draw the water upwards through the upper mouthpiece – similar to using a straw.
4. Simply blow out any excess water until the water level is correct.
5. As a guide: the bottom of the logo should be about half full of water.

Then dry the bubbler from the outside so that no moisture gets into your RELICT – and you're ready to go! 😊
